"rode to work today."
| |
I used to ride every day on my old scooter, but I was closer to work then than I am now. 15 miles on I-15 south. I can ride the fast-trak comuter lane for 8 of the miles. Only nearly got creamed once by a little red sports car going about 100 mph. "new" scooter (82 Euro version P200, 210 kit, JL RH pipe) did OK. My (brand new) speedo cable snapped last weekend right after indicating I was going 120 kph, so don't know the official speed, but I was keeping up with traffic and actually passing some of it. At the top of the revs in 4th the engine surges or something, wierd. Could that be a seal or something? Glad to have finally ridden the new scoot into work, hopefully all goes OK on the return trip as I get on the 15 north right where the 8 crosses over it, which can be hairy getting on there even in a V-8 powered car. Then its uphill for the first couple miles. -steve |

Rode to work too, in nice deadly Phoenix traffic. Post work was interesting. I took my friend stephen out for his first real ride(he just bought his scoot). We ended up getting lost in Paradise valley, neither of us know our way around that town. When I told him I had no idea where the hell I was going, he was like "Good, just fucking go! There's nothing like getting lost on those curvy little two lane roads just outside of the city. ben |
