Weird. Never heard of that. When does it take place? Is there like a ritual or something about it? So if i came Stateside, would i be considered exotic being non-circumcised? In terms of exotism, would i be like a woman with three breasts or more like the bearded woman? |

I don't know the percentages, but there are still quite a number of non-cut folks in the USA, so I can guess you won't be a rarity. Unless we're talking gay porn and then maybe ya would be! Most Mericans are cut right after birth. Of course some wait almost a year or two for religious reasons. Unjoy, Das Twit |

I might be explicit, but does it affect intercourse? The foreskin does have a use during intercourse me thinks, no? Made me also think of that scene from planet of the apes, where they all worship a nuclear bomb in some kind of church and they take off their facial skin? You think everyone's normal but suddenly you realise you're abnormal... |

The one before/after comparison I read (written by a guy who was circumcised at 22 years old) said that Yes, it does affect sex. Sex while wearing a condom is aparently more interesting pre-circumcision. The link to the article is in my post further down the list. Scroll to the last few paragraphs of the article for the short answer.-Jocelyn |

I've never heard anybody have a cancer of the foreskin. It's barbaric if you ask me, god gave us the skin for a reason. There was a hilarious article in Big Brother skate mag about this. On a more serious note: http://www.nocirc.org/articles/gollaher.html Jeff, do you take your computer to your toilet? Hope you're feeling better mate.

Now I've read a number of articles about what cutting can do (positive and negaitve) over the years, and I think it really doesn't matter at at all if you ask me. Then again I've never been with anyone who's been either circomsized or non-circomsized, well other then myself of course! >Jeff, do you take your computer to your toilet? Hope you're >feeling better mate. Naw, I'm at work causing trouble with half the post production houses in town and running to the lue every now and again. LAST EDITED ON Dec-15-03 AT 04:26 PM (EDT) I was not offended by the one uncircumcised cock I've seen. Granted, it was small and limpish at the time, and I wasn't planning on getting friendly with it, so... (shrug). I'm pretty openminded tho, and really horrified that so many boybabies get circumcised without being asked. So, as a girl in the US, I'd like to say No, I wouldn't mind (mostly based on principal, but hell, I'll try anything once). Cleanliness is the reason I hear most frequently. Regarding late-in-life circumcisions and before/after comparisons... I just read an interesting article at Nerve.com. Somewhat work friendly in content (text only, no pics), but will still ring some bells for the office net-nazis. http://www.nerve.com/personalessays/preiss/circumcision/ Edit: After re-reading it, the actual before/after comparison content is sorta brief, and mostly involves his issues pre-circ (partly involving HPV...ick!). I was most interested in this one since a majority of the articles I'd seen in the past were "I was cut as a baby and really want it back..." and this was very different. Anyway. -Jocelyn

"I'm pretty openminded tho, and really horrified that so many boybabies get circumcised without being asked." Because if you ask them when they're old enough, "Would you like us to hack off part of your weewee, they're going to grab their goods and run for the door! I don't sport the turtleneck, and I'm happy with my little soldier. I guess, like everything else it comes down to preference. If you like it, have you children get the procedure, if not, don't!

LAST EDITED ON Dec-15-03 AT 05:24 PM (EDT) Hey Joz, sorry about your bad experience, that was too funny....<<Cleanliness is the reason I hear most frequently.>> Well, everytime this pops up, kinda offends me. Maybe cleanliness was an issue a century ago, when people didn't have running water but even then I don't see how it can be an issue. Unless you are a smelly bum who takes showers once a month but then, there would be other parts of your body that would smell much worse......

Well, the forskin, just like the clitoral hood, collects smegma and if not cleansed properly can cause serious pain. Unforgiven SC - the NEW home of Unforgiven SC http://www.unforgivensc.net

I'm circumsised just like most my age (I'm 40) back when EVERYONE had it done...well....because we all had it done.. We didn't do our two boys and I think every single reason that is produced to defend this crap does not hold water, in the least. Cleanliness? We are the most hyper clean society in the world. A lot of us take TWO showers a day. That is not an issue. To prevent CANCER? That one is great...Name another body part that we remove preemptively to prevent cancer? You can't because we don't. Just think of the hundreds of thousands of women's lives we would save if we removed women's breasts at puberty? Sounds barbaric huh? Why isn't chopping off a part of my penis regarded the same? There is a REASON that we have them and it's damn arrogant to think that we can chop them because we "know better". You are taking off a part of a body that has been working just fine for hundreds of thousands of years. You better have a DAMN good reason to cut it off before you bring out the scissors, other than "Daddy looks like that and I want Bobby to also... We have to take the time to examine "traditions" in our culture to determine the TRUE reason's that we keep things like this going. Lay it all out on the table. If you can't really table anything other than "because", well it may be time to think about the merits of permanetly altering your boy's sex organ. Let him decide if he wants to go there when he is old enough to make that decision. No one would tattoo a kid until he is old enough to understand the ramifications, but we as parents will remove his foreskin without knowing the ramifications to his future sex life. My 2C. Scott

From what conjecture says, those that are uncircumsized have greater sensitivty in sex. Which, well, is something I don't really need haha I need somethign to desensitize me! Anyway, the health thing I've touched on in another post so I won't get into it here except to say that it CAN be an issue although a minor one. SO that leaves the real reason, culture and tradition. Plain and simple. I had my boys circumsized for these reasons. Not really any other reason other than so that they would be like me and not end up with weird issues of why they are different than their dad and such. Other than that, there's no real reason but then there's no real reason why people get tattoos and piercings. Just something that gets done. We had our boys (now 2yrs and 3 yrs old) circumsised at birth. I was told with that our first boy received no numbing creme in that area before it was performed. He came back very unhappy. With our second boy I requested the numbing creme and he came back a little more happy than the first one did. |

We had a different pediatrician the second time and he performed it completely differently. It really irritated our oldest but the doctor that did our youngest, the baby never seemed to know. I wonder how much difference it makes that the second doctor was male and the first was female. Hmmmmm Unforgiven SC - the NEW home of Unforgiven SC http://www.unforgivensc.net

It's funny how people would frown if we'd to tatoo or pierce our 5 year olds but chopping off a part of their anatomy is OK? Just struck me, that. I reckon we should let kids decide at 18 if they want to lose it or not. See how many people, without a real medical reason, would actually decide to do it. Kids are people too, you know. We let our son decide.

I'm guessing your son said no thanks. Can't imagine too many adults would be okay with such a procedure. Prolly has something to do with why it's done at birth. For me it's simply a religious issue.

Our first boy had a male pediatrician and our second boy had a female pediatrician. Both boys were circumsised differently. The first one came back with a pasti bell ring on and the second came back with it wrapped in gauze and he seemed a lot more happier than the first one. Maybe different types of circumsision are more painful than others. Thank goodness they dont remember it!!
