"1985 honda spree carb adjustments"

   Hello
I have removed the carb and clean it thoughly. I change the gas and spark plug. When i crank it over it wants to start then the plug gets wet. I tried to adjust the two screws on the carb with no luck. I used starting fluid and it did the same thing but will not start. Does anyone have a carb adjust specs for the adjustment screws? I would very much appreciate any help with this moped.

First your Spree is a Scooter not a moped. Mopeds have pedals. It is not a matter of semantics. Scooters and moped are different animals. Different carbs, different fuel valves (manual vs vacuum), 2 stroke vs 4 stroke, etc.

All I have is a Honda Elite 80 manual. It says to turn the air adjustment screw in all the way then back it out 1 7/8 turn if it is a 1985 model and 1 1/2 turns if it is after 1985 model. Then start the scooter and let it run for about 10 mins to warm up and then use the idle adjustment screw to set the idle speed. You may have to also adjust the air screw a bit to get it to idle without dying.

Again this is for an Elite 80 so I don't know if your Spree has the same carb.

Best to get a Service manual (check your local library)and then go the the scooter section of this board for Expert help on your scooter.

start with them at 1 1/4 turns out from seated. if the plug is really wet, the needle valve in the carb may be flooding the cylinder, or the muffler may be plugged up.

   Guys,

Please send people to the site; don't hotlink the manual.

Thanks,
