I just bought a vespa from this person. Here is their new posting for a different Vespa. Seems to fit perfectly into the whole Viet Vespa catagory. I'm afraid it's stolen too. Or are they stolen from Vietnam? They haven't given me all the paperwork and no keys. I'm so stupid and should have known better. I've stopped payment on the check and now I'm trying to get the rest of the money back. I think I am going to call the cops as well along with the DMV and all other agencies. They do this often I believe. And the local shop is putting me in contact with another person who is trying to sue her. Luckily I have a good lawyer in the family if need be. Sigh. So we'll see.

This girl has been selling lots of Asian scooters through craigslist and the recycler, I've spoken with her a few times as shes always listing different scoots with different phone numbers. Shes always been nice and readily admits their Asian restores with no title, etc. when asked. I dont know the details of your transaction, so I'm not sure how she ripped you off, did she promise you something like the title when there were no plates on the scooter? Or did you just pay her and leave with the scooter and now you have second thoughts? What paperwork and keys did you expect to receive once you paid and left? The DMV can run the VIN and tell you if its been registered and or stolen. What do you expect the Police to do, deliver keys to you.

Mr. PRICKle, you stated: "I don’t know the details of your transaction, so I'm not sure how she ripped you off"

Yeah, and that is the truth. You DON'T know ANY of the details from our transaction so why the attitude? Why the sarcasm? I just came on here for a little advice and you have to be a jerk. There is many, many more details involved here and no, I didn't get second thoughts. I would think this is a nice community but people like you need to just keep your attitude and assumptions to yourself. You know what they say about people who make ASSumptions...
And not to get into too many details with you since you are of no help and who knows why you responded to my post besides wanting to be a jerk, but I will say that she never said it was from Asia. And when I asked where it was from she said she didn't know. She is a liar of many subjects.
You are a jerk. Go get laid (although it must be hard since you are not a gentleman in any way) and get your aggression out dude. Peace and love to everyone else.

Correct I said that, that makes me a Jerk? Talk about peace and love, you must be Catholic. So what was the point of your post? Unless you state more details "other than your a victim" how can anyone on here help you? I did'nt make any assumptions, I was just throwing out ideas of what your experience may have been and adding my two cents and relating my experience with that seller. If someone told me they didnt know where something came from after I specifically asked, (as you said you did) be it a scooter, car, art, etc. I'd be wary and probably walk away or take that into consideration and factor that into the transaction. How about taking responsibilty for yourself and your choices, stop being a whinney victim and threatening to sue somebody and calling people names who don't jump on your pity party bandwagon.
P.S. Prickle is a girl, now who's making ASSumptions?

Yeah those scoots look very appealing and I did wonder about authenticity and the legalities of such a transaction. For everyone else out there I am going to say save your money and purchase new from a dealer or a legit unit in the USA with a title. Bummer.

I work on the docks and we don't know probably 99% of the time what is coming into the country in these thousands of containers from all over the world. There is no way for us to have access to that kind of information, all we do is move these containers and they are all sealed.

However, earlier this year I got a rare insight totally off the cuff from the Customs agents who screen some, but not all the containers coming into the country. At one point I was waiting to have a container scanned and as I stood waiting next to one of the agents, I jokingly asked him 'how much Chinese kitchen help was arriving today? He replied.'none, their scooters are here for them though whenever they do get here' He told me that 'the last 8 40 foot containers we ran were full of scooters, piled up all over each other, crammed up to the top of the containers.

That is a lot of scooters. And that was just one ship. Somewhere in Southern California.
