The spelling and grammar on that site are about as good as the manual that 'maybe' comes with the scooter. |

I bought a touring from bnscooter two months ago and I was able to register in CA. There scooter had a DOT label on the frame and an EPA label under the seat. I love their service and they have always been responsive to all my calls and email. It would be dumb for them to post "street legal in all 50 states" "DOT & EPA approved" if their products are not. So far, my sister in NJ got her touring and it pass state inspection and register just fine. Just wanted to make others aware that I am a very satisfied customer of bnscooters. |

I just called the toll free no. on their website. The "salesman" first said he had no idea what a WMI no. or engine family no. were. When I explained that these were indications of compliance with DOT and EPA rules, he said he was just a salesman not the owner of the store and couldn't memorize all the numbers. When pressed he said that he could get them from the accountants, but that would take a long time. He then assured me that it had all the appropiate labels. I said fine those have the numbers I wanted. Lo and behold! "I don't have a scooter that I can look at to get the numbers." He had no idea what C.A.R.B. certification was, but insisted that it is 50 state legal. If anybody out knows for a fact that this scoot has no certs, please let these folks know. The FTC takes a dim view of false and misleading advertising. If he is lying it will cost him plenty. http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/buspubs/ruleroad.htm

I see that the claim has been corrected to a "BNScooter Best Buy", sans a claim of a magazine review. Corrected quickly and seems to point to an attempt to correct. The numbers may be available if you called now... perhaps the salesman is more educated as well. |

I believe that the publisher had to suggest that we would take legal action against them if they did not remove that statement from their website. - Bryce Ludwig |

When I spoke with Bev, she had suggested that that legal action was an arrow in their quiver. She and I haven't really been in contact since she told me that they had made the claim. - Bryce Ludwig |

Bryce is correct...The emails are humorous as they try to cover where they got the claim.

I can envision people riding Zumas and Ruckuses around over a field and paint balling one another. That or riding flat black rat bikes around and shooting. For some reason that sounds like an idea so fun that it can't be safe. - Bryce Ludwig |

I bought a Tank 150 Sporty and this is my experience with BNScooters of Whitchita , Kansas : Ordered Bike & helmet--no billing errors-prompt acknowledgement of my order.Changed the type of helmet I wanted--they got it right & billed the right amount. all emails answered the next day if I posted them after hours--If I posted them during the day they were answered in an HOUR. Bike delivered in the promised time frame , no shipper damage & no shortages. Made 1 call to tech support for assistance in mounting front wheel to make sure I had it right-the tech was a good guy. Bill of sale & MCO (manufacturers certificate of origin) arrived a week after the bike , as promised. The VIN number matched the one on the bike. Insured the Bike with Progressive for $75.00/year. Called the MVD (motor vehicle department) and registration of the bike is no problem-no smog check required for 5 years. The bike , so far , has started , stopped and has all working lights , an alarm system with remote starter--it's all good. How long it STAYS that way is up to me maintaining it and some fault to those that made it... Daniel Keating - Tucson, Az |

Hello everyone. Pretty amazing. Been watching all the posts. Several boards. Not a single word. Comments were being made, inquiries every minute last week. Not a word since Tim took a break. Not one word. Too weird. Tim is a piece of the equation. But what happened to owners, customers, people buying? I don’t get it. I guess I don’t need to either. It’s just too weird. Subject closed. Monday 10/10/05 8:30 PM EST. Not a word. Not a single word from BNScooters. I ordered a TANK 150 touring scooter from them on Sep. 1. I paid cash upfront. 1700.00 dollars. I have not spent that much CASH ever on anything. Financed a lot more, but cash out of pocket – no, never. It was exciting, I could hardly wait. Wait I did, and still am. The fun is gone, the excitement is dead. The whole experience is F*#ked. BNScooters has been the worst buying experience of my life. I will be buying on the internet again. We have been buying on the internet since 1986 and have never had anything like this before. DO NOT BUY FROM BNScooters ! That’s my conclusion. Larry

I had to leave messages for four days to get them to take my money. Darn, I should have stopped. Good for you! There are plenty of reputable dealers on the internet and I won't have any problem buying from them. In your case though - buy from a dealer in your area (within 150 mi) you want help if it's broke - I'll fix it when it breaks. It may cost more locally but will be worth every penny of difference in the future for you. Good luck - scootering is just way to much fun to pass on. Larry. |

LAST EDITED ON Oct-10-05 AT 09:19 PM (EDT) Hey if you want some Scooter Paintball action I still have most of my Paintball gear. Sold off all my tech stuff but still have some hotrod Markers. We had a thread a good while back that showed several of us that were into Scooters also played paintball and built markers for paintball. The both share a certain amount of "Gear Head" involvment. Making pnematics work is facinating. I was up until recently the Moderator/Admin for Airgun Designs online BBS. Automags.org. And was a field Tech and event tech for them for years. You can still find me mug listed under Meet the Moderators there even though I retired from active moderation and Admin'ing the site last year. Interesting connection really. Paintball and Scooters. Who woulda thunk it? However the company I worked with and built and repaired markers for was high end equipment. Not cheap crap which is, oddly enough, chinese made stuff. So I suspect that BNS is selling that cheap crap. |

Interesting pursuit . . . paint ball and scooters . . . I've seen a couple of comments about it. I haven't played paint ball in 15 years . . . but it was a blast running through the woods, shooting and being shot, clocking our guns with radar . . . but all so long ago . . . TANK scooters are chinese. I know several people that own them. They are not junk. They are not Rolls Royce s. They are dependable, well built and a lot of fun. When Subaru and Honda civic was first sold here (1970s) - it was Japanees Junk . . . $900.00 for a brand new one . . . now . . . hmmm I think the chinese are offering a reasonable product at a resonable price . . . TANK, KYMCO, BARON and others are all worth looking at - and yes there is junk out there but these companies are building a reputation and it isn''t a bad one. Larry |

I think a paintball battle while riding scooters would be a pretty awesome extreme activity for a wild rally. It's like bicycle jousting, but way cooler. - Bryce Ludwig |

If there is a complaint message left on their machine - they will not answer. They lie about mailing parts, rudeness is obviously encouraged at BN - owners info is incorrect and I truly pity anyone who would order anything AT ALL from this BNscooters.com. Please don't order from National Direct Power Sports (their company name when calling) or Wholesale scooters or Scooter World.. heck who knows what they are called. |
