500, burgman 400 or 650 or the Kymco 250s B&W/Grand Vista. Overall thoughts, speed, crusing speed, mpg, comfort (I'm 6'3" 280#s). Most bang for the buck. Thanks |

My boyfriend rides a Scarabeo 150. He loves it, but he got a really good deal on a used one. New, they're priced just a hundred bucks lower than the Piaggio BV200, so the BV seems like it would be a better buy. |

I have ridden the Burgman650, Owned a People250, and ridden the B&W and Grand Vista. At your size, I think the B&W and GV would be too small and cramped. I am 5'8" and found them a little tight for me. Aprilia 500s would fit you, and have good performance, but I hear constant concerns about parts availability, no firsthand experience with parts tho.. Burgman 650 is a fine machine, you would fit well and has plenty of performance. Burgman 400 has 2" lower seat, and less power, but should still be adequate for your use. People 250 also might be a little snug due to the contour of the seatback. Good stable machine, typical 250cc performance, small fuel tank. All the Kymco 250s (P250, B&W, GV have quite a lot of somewhat annoying intake noise under acceleration. Reliability of all those you mentioned are reported to be quite good. Hope this helps. Hope this helps.. Ron |

Hey, I'm about your size and I ride an Aprilia Atlantic 500. I chose it over the Burgman 650 because I wasn't as jammed into the dashboard and the styling was nicer. Knees bumped into the fairing on the Suzukis, although there seemed to be a hair more legroom on the Burgman 650. The main advantage to the AA is the soft cushy seat that accommodates a soft cushy butt. You gotta sit on them because everybody's different and, if you can find a test ride, take it for a spin. The AA is plenty fast, can easily cruise 70+ on the highway. The parts channel is a bit flaky, that's the main drawback. For instance, I can't find a top case in stock. The locks are back ordered. And the nearest dealer is 20 highway miles away. On the AA forums many complain about gas getting into the oil, but I haven't had that problem. Where are you located? |

located in Alsip, IL. S. suburb of Chicago. I recently got my 1978 Vespa P200E up and running. I like it but I would'nt want to make a 50 mile ride on it. Has really good engine/power but I want something bigger and more comfortable. Anyone see or ride a yahama Majestic yet? 400cc. I guess August is when they'll be out. $5800.00 is steep but I'm going by what I paid for the Vespa, used in 1984. Ha. Again, Thanks. |

The Majesty seems pretty cool. The engine is fixed in place instead of pivoting like most scooters. So there is less unsprung weight and the rear suspension isn't dealing with the engine moving too. It also is pretty nice looking. The gauges look sweet. - Bryce Ludwig |

I found the best way to get a lot more performance from my scooter was to shed a bunch of weight. My scoot stops, goes, and turns much better now. No offense man, I've been there, done that, got the diabetes to prove it. And I'm 6'3", too. -jrsjr John Smith |
