LAST EDITED ON Mar-14-06 AT 10:32 PM (EDT) Don't just yank the old cable housing out, use what is left of it to guide the new one through. Easiest to run an extra long cable (you'll have to buy a length at the hardware store, and put an end on it) through both outer housings and use that to pull it through, or you can tape them together w/ a peice of duct tape and do it carefully that way. This can save you the headache of removing the gastank, horn, fishing the cable in and out of the bike trying to get it to follow the correct route etc. >Hi,spiny. > >thank you for fastest answer.

And pull it from the back up through the headset, not the the other way around like I tried and failed at doing my first time around. I used picture hanging wire, which worked great once I figured out what I did wrong. |

There is packing tape available with fiber strands imbedded in it that has worked very well for me. It might come unstuck but it won't break. I clean whatever I'm pulling with a little acetone and run at least 6" of tape on each. |
