That rocks... but look how screwed up the tail of his frame is. He should just cut it off. |

Wow. Was that the same guy who did that at Vespizzatevi '01? I remember a light blue bike with a lot of chrome and cutaways, I think a chrome helmet, and the left foot sticking out to the side like that, but at the time I thought he was riding a smallframe. I've always wondered if that was the guy who went by the handle "testachromata". Do you know, Gianluca? Regards, Scott

This guy is named Nicola, he is form Empoli a nice town not far from Florence. Definitively he is not "Testecromate". In fact he ride only his PX. Testecromate is a Scooter Club in Modena. ciao Gianluca Vespa Club Roma http://www.vespismo.com |

Thank you. Now I know. "testachromata" -- what was I thinking? I thought, chrome helmet, chrome head. Hah! Anyway, that was indeed Nicola I saw in 2001:
He kept riding ahead of the pack, turning around, and then wheelie-ing past us the other way, with his left leg sticking out. And here I was on a shitbox rented Honda frullatore:

If you watch him closely you note he is using that foot to stear the bike. Throwing it out to the left turns the bike that way so he goes around corners or other bikes. I believe he knows what he is doing.... and has spent many an hour in that position to know how to exactly control that bike on its rear wheel. Amazing. Wonder how many times he wrecked befrore he got the hang of that? Might explain some of the cut down work? |
