RE: I'm contrary today

Only if the water is at a rolling boil when it contacts the grounds. Given, as I said, the time between turning off the kettle, picking it up and moving it to the area where the French Press is located, and then pouring it onto the grounds, the chances are high that the water temp has cooled off to that magical 200 degree number.

I've never had coffee at a rolling boil served and I'd find it pretty impossible.

Even pouring boiling water into a glass carafe (as I do most every day) won't result in a rolling boil unless the carafe is itself heated to 212 degrees. Physics is on my side here but I don't think we really want to get into a discussion of exponential decay and heat transfer - especially since heat will transfer from a hot body (the hot coffee) to a cooler body (the outside air) at a much faster rate the colder it is outside.

And, finally, she was dumb enough to be in a car where movement is limited and you aren't able to react as quickly (closed space), with a flimsy cup (because old people want coffee to cost 35 cents), trying to add cream and sugar.

It was her fault. Period.

Hell what if she wasn't wearing panties and spilled an icy coke on her cooter and suffered freezer burn?

Would she have sued for clitoral regeneration because ice is frozen?
