1959 Allstate Cruisair, 0 miles.
by: Lambrespa on April 12, 1999 at 11:22:42

There was an auction this week end in New Braunfels TX. 2 automobile museums were liquidated. Among other vehicles, several scooters were sold. One of them was a 1959 Allstate Cruisair (Vespa 125), never titled, 0 mile and originally sold at Sears in Dallas. It went for less than $2000. This was a public auction with a $40 bidder's fee. Watch out for that one, it probably won't be long before you see it for sale somewhere. See a picture: http://www.dankruseclassic.com/CVR0409/59VespaS.htm
This is a good exemple of how much a shop or a dealer can pay for a scooter before turning around and re-selling for 2 or 3 times that amount. Soon only the Japanese will be able to afford scooters in the States. Think...?
