Yeah, it could be the spark, especially if its fouled. This used to happen to me when I had just rebuilt my p200 engine and I was running the autolube and oil in the tank too as recommended. It's just too much gunk for the spark when the system starts working and the plug fouls, usually at high speeds. As result the engine cuts out and you get this rrrrr sound everytime you pull the throttle until you slow down.
