how did you learn to ride?

so, i just bought my gf a lammy(well, that is what i told her so she would not get mad that i bought another scooter;))
anyhow, she does not ride. i know how to teach someone to ride, i taught several people, but she is a special case, she is pretty scared of two wheels...
so, ladies, or wussy boys, how did you learn? or does anyone have any ideas of what i could do besides rohipnol to calm her down?
i thot maybe have her try it out on real low cut grass. keep the speed down and minimze damages to her and the bike at low speed crashes..but may screw with handling.
oh yeah, the bike is going to be repainted AFTER she learns...
